We had a great time exploring the high key challenge. We shot in our studio with an assortment of props and a 2 light system. It was my first time working with the beautiful Gabriela, and it was magic!

White is not a mere absence of color; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black. God paints in many colors; but He never paints so gorgeously, I had almost said so gaudily, as when He paints in white.      G. K. Chesterton

High key photography… Balancing out key light, with fill light, in natural light and keeping detail in light (I feel like this should be a tongue twister…LOL!) is not easy, but between myself, Margo, Ellie and Phoebe, we pulled it off.

What’s even more fun is making new friends. Pheobe’s from Houston and came up for the weekend to bounce around Austin with us. We shot these at LBJ Presidential Library which had massive, sweeping granite walls with cool textures, fossil imprints and smooth colors which helps with our overall look.
